Sam Coffie, aka DJ BEARGAZER, is a New York City based creative by day, and groove conductor by night. Born in the 80s, and raised in the 90s Chicago area, his affinity for house music, disco, funk, and 90's R&B/Hip Hop nostalgia display a curated vibe seamlessly blending the old school with the "new cool". His love for music is celebrated not only emotionally, but via each human sense.

Parallel to his growing DJ career, he has a strong background in Fashion Design [BFA], with an impressive resume designing/creative direction for several global fashion brands. He has also sang vocals for dj/producer Jacques Renault, songwriting contributions for dj/producer Brenmar, and released music projects of his own on iTunes and Spotify under the moniker SAMN!.

In 2014, SC created BEARGAZER™ to celebrate body positivity and the POC journey spanning across straight, queer, and non-conforming identified communities. He continues to cross-market BEARGAZER as a product line simultaneously encompassing the spirit of the name — “loving yourself—in all shapes, all forms”.

Building and inspiring a community with sound and spirit is DJ BEARGAZER’s major goal while creating global unity between the LGBTQ+ family and their allies. He is also very intentional about creating safe spaces for people of color, and inviting universal love to the dance floor. With traveling residencies with parties such as ‘HEFT™’, ‘FEDORAS & SOUL’ , and the long standing party ‘WE ARE FAMILY’ at Kinfolk, he maintains an inclusive celebration to create a euphoric dance experience.

He has played alongside legend DJ Victor Simonelli, and has been featured in publications OK! Magazine USA, DJ Mag, Time Out New York, Gaycities, Miami Music Weekend/ Ultra Music Festival, Brokelyn, GAYLETTER, and FADER.
